When creating your Client Portal user account, or when linking a new client entity to your existing Client Portal user account, you must have client information that matches what the firm has on record to authenticate your access to your invoice(s).
Your client information may also be referred to as your client key, client ID, or client number. Both the Client Number and Invoice Number are required when linking a client entity to your Client Portal user account.
- Client Number: Enter the client number for the client entity you wish to see and/or link. Your client number is located on your invoice from your firm. If your client number includes letters, be sure to type them exactly as printed on your invoice, adhering to case sensitivity.
- Invoice Number: Enter the invoice number of ANY invoice you have ever received for that client entity, even if it has already been paid. If your invoice number includes letters, be sure to type them exactly as printed on your invoice, adhering to case sensitivity. You may leave the invoice number field blank only if no invoice was ever issued to that client entity.
There are a few variations in how firms choose to request your client information. When adding an account, be sure to follow the on-screen instructions for entering it.
Still having trouble?
While rare, a network firewall on your work PC may prevent access to your Client Portal. If you receive a “Client Key Error” message and have entered the correct client number and its associated invoice number exactly as written on your invoice, a network firewall may be blocking access.
To test this, open your firm’s Client Portal from your smartphone or tablet instead — either by selecting the Pay Invoice button in your invoice email, or by going to your firm’s Client Portal URL (located on their website) and signing in to your user account.
If you can get into the Client Portal from your phone or tablet, your work PC has a network firewall. Contact your IT administrator to lift the firewall and whitelist the aiwyn.ai domain, allowing all links from that domain to be accessed from your work computer.
